ABOUT THE FILM

SYNOPSIS

Set in 1994, Scrap follows Victoria, a closeted 18-year-old who is trapped working in her father’s decaying junkyard in a small Georgia town. On the stormy anniversary of her mother’s death, Victoria meets Zoe—a bold, mysterious stranger who tempts her into hanging out in the dark car lot out back. But as night falls, the wrecked cars awaken—and with them, the restless spirits of those who died inside, forcing Victoria to face the memories she buried and the truth she’s long refused to see. Scrap can be seen as a emotional, terrifying and disturbing combination of Night at the Museum (2006) and Talk to Me (2022), blending the fantasy and mystery of Night at the Museum with the profound and psychological horror of Talk to Me.

At its core, Scrap is not a ghost story, but a coming-of-age journey about guilt, acceptance, and the ways we confront loss to rediscover life. It's about Victoria no longer repressing her emotions under drugs, music, and sarcasm, but instead embracing her path and coming to terms with the years that made her who she is.
